Things To Do After Your Dad Dies.

I attended my friend Bob's Funeral in Oldham this morning 

 He died about 5 weeks ago but , partly , it had been delayed because his son Neil (aka Nodge) McRoberts had been in the USA due to Business. attending a Conference in Stamford, Connecticut and ,prior to that. talking to Netflix Producers about summat or other !.

 He has his own podcast  Talking Scared   which includes Interviews with the likes of   Stephen King  &  Margaret  Atwood .He writes stuff for The Guardian : Esquire and Vogue Magazine . A busy lad !

needless to say, he spoke very well at today's funeral.

I have known Bob & his son for over 15 years.

 And I have some empathy with Neil's situation of being abroad knowing your dad is dead. 40 years ago I was abroad on Christmas Day in  Marrakesh when I heard my Dad had died suddenly .

Sadly , they had no American Footballs in Morocco ........

Manchester Yesterday

Lovely to meet up with Don & Margaret at The Stoller Hall.The Rheingans Sisters are VERY good! Infact, the whole day was surprisingly mellow .

Everything went as it should have went ! A very relaxing day .

I went to Hydn's Funeral Mass in Royton today.

 A Packed Church .

His friends from Territorial Army ( he served 17 years ,including The  Falklands )

which i never knew..

They Played " The Last Post"at the end of a 90 minutes service......

very moving.

 Last Men Standing: It's worth saying that Bob from Bacup was also diagnosed with Cancer 2 weeks ago & Big Mark from Rochdale died recently ( also Cancer )  Hard Times.........
